To put it simply, an Affiliate is someone (like you) who promotes other people’s products or services. When someone then purchases the item that you promoted to them you receive a commission on that sale. This commission can range from 3% up to even 80%+ of the sale price – depending on the affiliate program that you have signed up with.
So following on from this, Affiliate Marketing then is the process of an affiliate making an agreement with a business merchant to go out and promote their products and/or services.
Your Unique Affiliate Marketing URL
Once you find an affiliate program that you are interested in promoting you then sign up with this business merchant and you are given a unique affiliate URL (domain name) that you can use to promote to others.
A great benefit of affiliate marketing is that you do not have to worry about customer service, shipping the product etc. All of these concerns are looked after by the business that you are an affiliate of. Your main aim and goal is to just promote their product or service and they then do the rest.
